STUDIOLINGUA is a specialist school for Italian language and culture courses for adults. We organize both group courses as individual and in-company courses. Learning a language is a dynamic process, a process with a better end result when it involves interaction with (native) Italian speakers and when the culture of the country is experienced. For that process-enhancing purpose, we have created a little bit of Italy in Amsterdam. Where the taste of the Bel Paese can be tried and her arts can be admired. In that atmosphere, we host our language and culture courses.
Aim:
Goal of the courses is to teach the student the capabilities to communicate with Italians, in different situations and settings and in an efficient and pleasant way.
Method:
STUDIOLINGUA uses a learning model in which an informal and relaxed approach in the classroom is central, in order for all students to feel free to speak Italian and to experiment with language. All instructors are native Italian speakers. Courses are in Italian and aimed at improving four language skills: to speak better, listen better, read better and write better. Materials include newspaper articles, recorded conversations, films, literature and songs.
Level:
In line with the acknowledged international CEFR we offer six different levels. This framework is used by schools and universities both within and outside of Italy. Its classifications go for both "spoken" and for "business" Italian. The six levels can be differentiated for didactical reasons, for instance in an intensive course in which students want to test their theoretical knowledge whilst making extra 'speaking hours'. Click here to read descriptions of all the levels. To test the entry level of new students, we use a language test. The test and the resulting advice is free and is non-binding.
